Michael Oettinger serves as vice president and legal counsel for Walgreens Health Services human resources, providing oversight for all human resources functions for the division.

Oettinger joined the Company in 2002, and has held previous positions as a senior attorney in the Walgreens Employee Relations department and as senior counsel/director in the Walgreens Compensation and Benefits department. Prior to joining Walgreens, he served as in-house employment and benefits counsel for True North Communications and as an employee benefits associate with the law firm Gardner, Carton & Douglas.

Oettinger also is a certified public accountant. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School.
