About Walgreens long-term care pharmacy

By 2030, seniors will represent nearly 20 percent of the United States population, according to U.S. Census Bureau projections. Walgreens is preparing for this influx in a number of ways. In 2007, SeniorMed, a provider of pharmacy products and services to the senior market, became a Walgreens Company. Through Walgreens, SeniorMed offers expanded pharmacy resources by giving customers access to a network of more than 6,000 Walgreens pharmacies across the country. Customers also now have better access to Walgreens Home Care, which offers infusion and respiratory services as well as durable medical equipment.

For more than 10 years, SeniorMed has been helping senior communities manage their residents’ daily prescription schedules. As people age, their intake of medications often increase, with some seniors taking as many as 15 to 20 medications daily. SeniorMed offers a comprehensive, safe medication management system that features compliance packaging which simplifies medication distribution and reduces the risk of missed or incorrect dosing. At SeniorMed, we are dedicated to serving communities’ prescription needs by offering:

  • Medication management program
  • Unit-, multi-, and liquid-dose compliance packaging
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Seamless implementation process
  • 24-hour pharmacist availability
  • Educational programs
  • Dedicated support team
  • Consultant Pharmacists
