Our history
PrintStephen L. Axelrod, MD, founded Senior Healthcare Partners LLC (SeniorMed Pharmacy) in 1996. He wanted to bring a reliable and efficient medication management system to senior living communities and provide outstanding customer service to both the communities’ staff and residents. Headquartered in Aurora, Colo., SeniorMed now has multiple locations serving communities in more than 18 states.
In 2007, SeniorMed became a Walgreens company. Through Walgreens, SeniorMed offers expanded pharmacy resources by giving customers access to a network of more than 6,000 Walgreens pharmacies across the country. Customers also now have better access to Walgreens Home Care, which offers infusion and respiratory services and durable medical equipment.
