Walgreens Health Initiatives Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Program strives to improve patient outcomes and manage overall healthcare costs. Our comprehensive program is supported by custom-designed technology-solutions, face-to-face interventions between pharmacists and patients, and an in-house clinical care center. We believe that promoting appropriate medication therapy helps to balance the best available patient care, while controlling your overall healthcare costs. The Walgreens Health Initiatives MTM Program produced outstanding results in its first year:

• 2.5:1 ROI for clients
• More than $50 per member per month in pharmacy savings share between members and clients for members receiving MTM interventions.

Our MTM program provides the flexibility to meet your requirements by providing customized solutions. Any or all of the following services are available:

• Polypharmacy—Coordinates care for complex pharmacy patients
• Compliance and Persistency—Educates patients on importance of medication adherence
• Appropriateness of Therapy—Identifies patients with chronic diseases who are not on the correct medication
• Inappropriate Medications in the Elderly (IMIE)—Ensures seniors are not taking harmful medications
