Flu/pneumonia immunization services for your members

According to the CDC, influenza affects 60 million people in the United States each year, causing an estimated 36,000 deaths and 226,000 hospitalizations annually.

The Walgreens Flu and Pneumonia Immunization Program is designed to offer you and your members a national flu immunization solution that provides convenient access to affordable, preventive healthcare.

Beginning each fall, flu immunizations will be available at our more than 7,000 Walgreens locations in 50 states, including more than 300 Take Care Clinics, throughout the flu season and at worksite locations.

By offering this program to your members, you may prevent unnecessary and costly emergency room visits, medications and hospitalizations. Participating in the program could also help to decrease disease spread in the workplace, plus possibly reduce the overall financial healthcare costs for you and your members.

Program options

We offer two convenient program options during the flu season.

In-store program: Starting in the fall, Walgreens immunization certified pharmacists and healthcare professionals will administer flu/pneumonia immunizations to your members in our stores, including Take Care Clinics.

When your members present their pharmacy benefit card or voucher, if applicable, they will receive their immunizations either for free or for a small copay, depending on their benefit design.

Worksite program: Certified pharmacists and healthcare professionals will administer flu/pneumonia immunizations to your employees at your worksite. Your Walgreens account management team will work with you to determine the best date and time to schedule worksite clinic(s).

Employees unable to attend their scheduled worksite clinic can receive their immunization(s) at a participating Walgreens location, including Take Care Clinics.

Work with your account representative early to schedule these worksite clinics. A guaranteed minimum of 30 immunizations per clinic is required to participate in this program option.

Convenient program for members

Once coverage requirements have been determined, we will provide you with easy-to-use templates to promote the program to your members prior to your program start date.

Your members will be able to:

  • Locate our more than 7,000 participating Walgreens locations, including Take Care Clinics, by calling 800-WALGREENS (800-925-4733) or by visiting Walgreens.com/flu
  • Preregister, in person or by calling a participating pharmacy
  • Receive immunizations by presenting their pharmacy benefit card, or voucher, if applicable, for free or for a small copay
