Families Supporting Families mentoring program
Parents of children with bleeding disorders often find it beneficial to talk with other parents who raise children with a bleeding disorder.
That's why Walgreens established the Families Supporting Families mentoring program. Our program mentors are parents of children with bleeding disorders and people dealing with their own bleeding disorder.
What our mentors do*:
- Provide patients, parents and caregivers with information regarding topics including self-infusion, inhibitors, surgeries, dental work and school issues.
- Attend educational events sponsored by the National Hemophilia Foundation and the Hemophilia Federation of America, where they offer advice and share personal experiences.
Through our program, we put you in contact with a mentor who can offer the guidance and support that only another parent of a bleeding disorders child can provide.
Mission: Transition for young adults
Mission: Transition teaches young adults with bleeding disorders the necessary skills to maintain their health as they transition to adulthood and independence.
Our knowledgeable staff will provide presentations and one-on-one assistance on a variety of topics:

- Insurance issues
- Independent living
- College life
Our goal is to educate and empower young adults to help increase their confidence and self-esteem and promote independence.
