Follow a healthy diet
Fighting cancer affects your ability to convert food into energy. Eating poorly can contribute to fatigue during cancer treatment, and thus, it is important to find ways to keep a balanced diet that meets your body's needs.
- Try to balance protein, fiber and fat in each meal.
- Avoid sugary foods that may give you an initial jolt of energy only to leave you tired afterward.
- Drink plenty of caffeine-free fluids.
- Speak with your doctor or a dietitian to create a diet that will help manage your fatigue.
- Ask your doctor whether you should take a multivitamin.
