Oral ovulatory stimulants

Generic name: clomiphene citrate

Dosage form: Tablet

How it works: Stimulates ovulation and increases the amount of hormones in the body that support the growth and release of a mature egg

Missed dose: Call your doctor immediately. Until you are able to speak with your doctor, take the missed dose unless it is almost time for the next scheduled dose. Do not take two doses at one time. It is important that you talk with your doctor as soon as possible about whether your treatment plan will need to be adjusted because of a missed dose.

Storage and handling: Store tablets at controlled room temperature (59°F to 86°F). Protect from heat, light, and excessive humidity, and store in closed containers.

Common side effects: Hot flashes, abdominal discomfort, blurred vision, insomnia, nervousness, breast tenderness, symptoms of OHSS, ovarian cysts, and ovarian enlargement

Contact your doctor immediately: If you experience symptoms of OHSS or visual disturbances such as blurring, spots, and flashes
